Goodman & al. (2025) présentent une révision importante de la « racine » de la super-famille des Libelluloidea. J’en fais ci-dessous l’analyse et engage de nouvelles propositions dans le cadre de la Classification phylogénétique progressive où j’ai placé en 2024, la dite super-famille au rang de micro-ordre, les Libellulines, divisé en plusieurs super-familles dont la version stricte des Libelluloidea qui justement est l’ensemble non traité chez Goodman & al. (2025) et ci-dessous. Chaque ensemble est considéré : micro-ordres, super-familles, familles, sous-familles, tribus et genres.
La structure du tableau suivant donne les rangs (micro-ordres, super-familles, familles et genres (hors Libelluloidea s.str. = Libellulidae s.l.) avec l’historique de leur placement pour les Libellulines « racine » en particulier de cet ensemble fortement « chamboulé » par les nouvelles connaissances phylogénétique (sedis mutandis).

Il est notable de souligner que certains genres que je n’avais pas réussi à classer dans mes travaux antérieurs (Deliry 2014, 2018) sont omis par Goodman & al. (2025) et n’ont toujours pas trouvé de place pour l’instant dans une famille appropriée : Akrothemis Theischinger & Richards, 2012, Atratothemis Dumont & al., 2005, Orionothemis Fleck, Hamada & Carvalho, 2009 et Potamarcha Karsch, 1890 ! Cette « maladresse » révèle qu’une des sources de l’ouvrage de Goodman & al. (2025), bien qu’extrêmement développé et approfondi par des apports essentiels aux connaissances des Libelluloidea s.l. ou Libellulines, sont bien mes travaux pourtant omis des références citées : Deliry (2014, 2018), sinon qu’il y a convergence sur ces difficultés ! Pour l’instant seules deux familles ont été ajoutées à la World Odonata List (Paulson & al. [2025]) : les Gomphomacromiidae et les Aeschnosomatidae / Aeschnosomidae ce qui laisse encore 17 genres et 101 espèces de Libellulines en situation incertaine (incertae sedis). Ma lecture de l’article de Goodman & al. (2025) et l’analyse de ses conséquences et nouveautés phylogénétiques s’est déroulée du 10 au 19 octobre 2025. Les résultats sont importants puisque près d’une cinquantaine d’ajustements ou compléments taxonomiques ont été considérés depuis les niveaux supérieurs de la systématique au niveau du genre. Une réflexion supplémentaire importante a été réalisée sur la quarantaine espèces de Somatochlora !

Un article supplémentaire paru le 5 janvier 2026 (Fleck 2026) vient affiner et améliorer la compréhension de cet ensemble. Je reprends les éléments supplémentaires ajustés « en vert » ci-dessous. Par ailleurs en approfondissant, il apparaît nécessaire de corriger les Aeschnosomatidae à la fois en terme d’orthographe et d’auteur : Aeschnosomidae Fleck in Aberlenc, 2020 (hic, stat. nov., 8 janvier 2026).
